    3. Hi Joan, I have sent an image to you off list. He was mis-indexed. However there is also a Charles b c 1827, Stockport who married Maria in 1871 who I can't find in any other census so he could possibly the same one. The Charles b c 1828 Knutsford, father Samuel married Hannah I have ruled out, he appears to be the same Charles in several instances. But there is also a Charles b c 1827 tried in Cheshire on 29 Mar 1848 for burglary and acquitted who could be the same one as either above. I have also sent 2 shipping records which show Charles as a farm labourer. But that would appear to be the Charles to which you are referring. Hope this helps, Christine -----Original Message----- From: Joan Birtles Sent: Thursday, September 12, 2013 6:10 AM To: CHESHIRE@rootsweb.com Subject: [CHS] 1841 CENSUS CHESHIRE Good afternoon listers, Could I ask if a lister has access to the 1841 census for Congleton in the parish of Astbury, Cheshire please. I have found a Charles Birtles in this parish which is the area where my husband's ancestors were from in the 19th & 18th C, but this is the first time we have come across a Charles. On the LDS site a Charles Birtles is shown as a 15 year old in the household in Congleton in the parish of Astbury. My husband's direct ancestors left Congleton, Cheshire and arrived in NSW, Australia in 1844 as Bounty Immigrants. Charles above also arrived in 1844 from Cheshire but on a different ship and a few months earlier. Charles is shown as an 18 year old, a bootmaker on his immigration record into NSW. I am wondering if he is another member of the family I have missed. Thank you for any help. Joan
