Hi Lesley, I am inclined to disbelieve the gravestone in this case. You may well be right that it was replaced or perhaps it is just unreadable and wrong guesses have been made. Joshua was baptized in Gawsworth. He was married, that is a possibility but it doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the burial records. Thanks for the ideas. That could explain the discrepancies between the MI & the other records. Have you found a baptism for Joshua?
