    3. One of the things you should do, if not done alraedy, is to try to contact his regiment headquarters. They may then be able to access records or put you in touch with people who have mare detailed information on troop movements in WW1. I had a similar task with my father in the Chehsire Regiment and the Royal Warwickshires. As you say, the soldiers were very reluctant to talk about their experiences.
