Thanks Adrian. It seems unlikely that his birthplace was Stanthorne then, as his parents would have taken him past Davenham north to Great Budworth to be baptized, which doesn't seem to make much sense. Although I suppose stranger things have happened! I appreciate the input. His brothers were supposed to be from other parts of the county, so perhaps they spread out as adults.
