    3. This is probably a lost cause but a cousin who lives in South Africa was trying to find information on her grandfather who was killed in WW1 his son was also killed in WW1 she has no other information other than the name was Robinson, they came from Rudheath in Northwich she only knew her grandmother as Granny Robinson and that she had a daughter Elsie. Regards Gill

    3. Hi Gill, Just a thought but wouldn't it be easier if they looked for a wedding certificate for their parents or better still get the birth certificate of the person who is related to this grandfather. This record would show the grandparents names address and occupation. From this we can start to look at the forces death records or earlier census starting at 1901. Kind regards Mike Morris Toronto Canada ________________________________ From: GILLIAN52 via <cheshire@rootsweb.com> To: CHESHIRE-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, December 30, 2014 2:08 PM This is probably a lost cause but a cousin who lives in South Africa was trying to find information on her grandfather who was killed in WW1 his son was also killed in WW1 she has no other information other than the name was Robinson, they came from Rudheath in Northwich she only knew her grandmother as Granny Robinson and that she had a daughter Elsie.

    3. Try looking at the war memorials on Carlscam.com . There isn't one for Rudheath but he may appear on one for the surrounding parishes. 3. Gill The Northwich & District Heritage Society (www.northwich-heritage.org.uk) have a publication 'Northwich's WWI Roll of Honour' which lists 7 Robinsons 3 of whom have addresses which 'could' be considered as Rudheath. I left Northwich in 1971 so maybe someone else can help to clarify the addresses. All the above place-names are in the Northwich area as are the memorials, further details of which can be found on Carlscam - www.carlscam.com Google Maps may help with addresses. The Commonwealth War Graves - www.cwgc.org also has these details. Hope this helps, Bob Owen On 30 December 2014 at 19:08, GILLIAN52 via <cheshire@rootsweb.com> wrote: > This is probably a lost cause but a cousin who lives in South Africa was > trying to find information on her grandfather who was killed in WW1 his > son > was also killed in WW1 she has no other information other than the name > was > Robinson, they came from Rudheath in Northwich she only knew her > grandmother as Granny Robinson and that she had a daughter Elsie. > > Regards Gill > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > CHESHIRE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
