Thank you for that Adrian. I have done as you advised but this just gives me options to make notes about the evidence I have and does not add information in the boxes marked Birth, Death, Military Records etc. I will wait a while and see if there are any changes over the months. According to today's newspaper over 30,000 people signed into the site yesterday. Thank you everyone for the advice. "you can add those official records for your uncle, which you have already, without having to pay again by adding them as an external reference (clicking "add an external reference" and selecting "copy of an official document"), rather than clicking "search official records" on our site." Which seems to match what I said. I think.... I noticed that too. It does seem to be a marketing exercise to add 'Friends of the Project' who then pay to access FindMyPast records rather than a genuine attempt for the nation to add their WW1 ancestors stories. 30,000 may have signed in but how many will ever return having found out it's limitations and clumsy interface. Probably the same team who redesigned FMP developed this too as D C Thompson own both. Disappointed the IWM failed to mention this in any of their press releases.
