Trying to find out the origin of this farm name. In 1910 and 1875 it was on the map as 'Vicar' but today is known as Vicar's Farm. No name is given on the tithe map when it was occupied by John Shatwell (plot just referred to as a homestead). I wonder if it is connected with 'Wicca' the Old English word for a witch. Any ideas, anyone? It belonged to the Earl of Stamford's estate and I don't think it has anything to do with a vicar as such. Thanks for any help with this, Yours, Lyn
