GEDCOM is the closest thing there is to a universal format for genealogical data. Others have recommended programs which will import PAF files and convert them to their proprietary formats. I suspect most programs will because PAF (being free) was very popular in its day. My advice is to always make a backup GEDCOM file of your database. The GEDCOM standard is now very old and will not handle all the "bells and whistles" of newer programs, but it will -- at least -- preserve your essential data for import into any program that should come along. -rt_/)
