Thanks. This family has driven me mad for years. Thomas Walsh b. 1819 Manchester died 1890 in Beswick, Manchester Emma Walsh b 1826 Nottingham Children; Charlotte Walsh b.1854 Manchester. Never married but calls herself SMITH on the 1901 census but all previous ones she is WALSH. Isabella Walsh b. 1867. Salford Children: Annie Walsh (My great grandmother) b.1893 d. 1947 Francis Joseph Walsh b. 1896 d. 1925 in accident at gas works. Mary Agnes Walsh b1900 d 1970 (in Convent.) All 3 children were said to be illegitimate and their mother a mistress to a wealthy man. It was also said that Annie was put into an industrial school and Mary into a convent at the age of 5. No information on Francis other than he was in the merchant navy WW1.
