    1. [CHS] Auxiliary Registers - Witton
    2. Christine Tregonning
    3. Hello, A while ago there was a discussion about auxiliary registers and I learnt that these were available for Witton. This has sparked my recent interest in my research into my forebears from Cheshire and in particular in the area around Northwich and although I don't have a lot of money at present I have subscribed for a brief period to Find my Past so I am trying to make the most of it while I can. I have identified that Ann wife of John KAY from WINCHAM (my forebears) is most likely to be Ann FORSTER daughter of William FORSTER and Hannah FARRINGTON who were married at GREAT BUDWORTH in 1792. This ties in with a baptism of an Ann FORSTER in 1793 with parents William and Ann. I have still not been able to find a marriage for Ann FORSTER and John KAY which I had presumed took place sometime before the birth of their first identified child in 1825. It was pointed out to me that this was a bit late for a first marriage for both parties. I have since found a baptism at WITTON for an Ellen KEY who was born in 1808. Ellen's parent's were John KEY and Mary. Now there is no doubt that this John KEY and my John KAY are the same person and although I cannot find a record of any other children to this marriage a Mary KAY aged 50 from WINCHAM is recorded as being buried in 1822. Now my problem is that the copy of the register on Find My Past that gives the mother's parent's names has been cut off so that only the mother's Christian name is left. Will this be how the page was filmed or just how it has been linked on Find my Past and is there any way that I can find the full entry. Regards, Christine
