Hi, My Cherry line comes from South Carolina: George Washington Cherry (c 1862-1924) of Old Ellenton, SC & his wife Carrie Merritt Poole (c 1865-1930) of Reevetown, SC, Their children were: George Thomas (30 Oct 1898) Wordlaw D. (16 Dec 1899) Emma Ethel (06 Nov 1901) Earnest (23 Nov 1902) Alonza Lucious (20 Apr 1907) Council Christopher (01 Aug 1910) Leon Franklin (14 Mar 1914) - my grandfather Jack (dates unknown-had a wife named Amy) John Harvey (dates unknown) Minnie (dates unknown) Charles (dates unknown) I am looking for G.W.'s parents and siblings, and Carrie's father and siblings, I know her mother's name was Emmaline but I don't have a maiden name for her. Of the ones I have some information for, Earnest and Wordlaw moved to Michigan and started families there. Both of them died and were buried there, but their children stayed in the Detroit area. The other brothers and sister stayed in Aiken South Carolina, except Leon lived in New York for many years, then retired and moved back to Aiken, SC to be close to his brothers and sister.
