    1. [CHERRY-L] Cherry - GA/N.C.
    2. I am trying to find information about my great-great-grandfather, James Cherry, his brother, William, sister(?) Silvey, brother (?) Riley and mother (?) Mary who were in Washington County, GA in the census of 1830 and in Wilkinson County, GA in the census of 1840, 1850 and 1860, can't find anything after that in Wilkinson, but my daddy told me that his grandfather, James C. Cherry lived in Laurens County and then moved to Wheeler County. My daddy's grandfather was in the Civil War, was married 3 times. I don't know who his first wife was, his second wife, who was my granddaddy's mother was Emma D. Walls and his 3rd wife was Hattie. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    3. Hi I am descended from William and have information on his descendants. This is very exciting. William moved to Houston County and married Edna Perrin Heard in Bibb County in 1842. William died in Houston County, Ga in 1863. He lived on land purchased from Spencer Riley and we felt Spencer may have been related as well. Riley married Charity Wicker and also lived in Houston County for awhile and then we lose track of them. William may have been married before Edna as he was much older than she was. I don't have much information on Silvey. I would love to exchange information. My web page is www.merrington.net, then go to Southern Ancestors and to Cherry. Sandra Riner is my first cousin and also a direct descendant of William. I would love to exchange information, Best regards, Gaila Merrington ----- Original Message ----- From: <lwebster66@hotmail.com> To: <CHERRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, July 14, 2001 5:30 AM Subject: [CHERRY-L] Cherry - GA/N.C. > > I am trying to find information about my great-great-grandfather, James Cherry, his brother, William, sister(?) 3. More information about my Cherry family: William b. 1804 North Carolina and Edna Perrin Heard b 1824. They married in Bibb County,Ga on 25 Oct 1842. Their family Bible gives their children's names as: Andrew D 09 October 1843 Wiley Franklin 21 October 1846 James Raleigh 22 April 1848 Cornelia Angeline 17 March 1850 Jacob Lonza 22 February 1852 Emma Edna 10 March 1854 William Thomas 10 April, 1858 Robert Hanes 17 April, 1858 Spencer and Riley Cherry seem to be William's brothers. William purchased his land from Spencer and Riley came and lived on William's land by 1850. Are they related to the Bibb County Cherry's? We haven't found a link to prove that, but they lived close to each other. Riley Cherry lived near William in the 1850 Houston County, Ga census. We know he married Charity Wicker from Washington Co, Ga 29 Oct 1839. Who did Silvie marry? There is also another William Cherry on the 1850 Census in Wilkinson County, GA, with Parnelia Female 27, with 4 young Cherry girls: Mary 12 yrs, Frances 9 yrs, Sarah A 5 years, and Nancy 2 yrs and also a 16 year old Martha Frazier. I don't know how this family connects to our William. I also see James Cherry in Wilkinson County, age 42 Born NC Mary age 42 Nancy 16 William 10 Caroline 9 James 7 Mary Cherry 64 Silvey 42 I am looking forward to hearing from you, Gaila
