    3. Linda, John and all, When I was brand new to genealogy, I found a list in a magazine regarding the orphans of Wiley Cherry. I haven't been back to the Oakland LDS family history centre to find that article which named the children of Wiley Cherry, but someday, I am going to go back. Sandra and I are first cousins, our Cherry family lived in Houston County from at least 1840 to now. Our William Cherry b 1804, NC was married to Edna Perrin Heard b1824, SC. She was 19 and he was 38 years old at the time of their marriage. Marriage date was Oct 25, 1842 Bibb County, GA. We don't know if this was William's first marriage or not. Their children, taken from a family Bible, Andrew D Cherry born Oct 1843 Wiley Franklin born Oct 1846 James Raleigh born April 1848 Cornelia Angeline born March 1850 Jacob Lonza born Feb 1852 Emma Edna born March 1854 William Thomas born April 1858 (?) date hard to read Robert Hanes Cherry April 1862 William Cherry died on 2 June 1862 Edna (Edney) remarried Meredith Arnett, a contempary of William Cherry. Meredith was also a widower and about the same age as William Cherry - also born in NC. Robert Hanes The names Rena Cherry, Sally and Robert, Frances, Margaret were found in the family for many generations. Several of our William's childrens middle names: Hanes, Franklin and Raleigh could be family names. Raleigh could also be Raleigh North Carolina. We don't know. Robert Hanes Cherry had a son Robert Kale Cherry, which could also be a family name. This is definitely a brick wall for Sandra and I. I would like to know how all the Georgia Cherry's connect. Bibb County is full of Cherry's. Another point of interest, our Cherry family seemed to be Methodist/Episcopalian. William Cherry did not seem as prosperous and Edna's family, but he looked after her younger brothers and sisters when her parents died and looked after the estate accounts very well and the children seem to come to them. Does anyone have information on Spencer and Riley Cherry families? Sandra says Riley died young, so his family was probably smaller. Spencer sold William the land in Houston County, Ga.
