I am tracing my Cherrys in Beaufort and Martin county NC but I do not have a connection with your William. My earliest is Joseph Cherry in 1840 in Beaufort County NC. Have you posted your query to the Martin COunty NC List? That is pretty active. I have seen Robason on Martin, BEaufort and or Bertie County lists for NC.
