Yes my Dad drew SS. The SS Admin verified his birth date by using TN 1930 census (which is off by one year as well as his SS Death Redord), his military records reflect the correct year. I wrote TN Vital Statistics and they checked for Delayed Birth Records. I also sent request to Polk County TN for any birth information (+5 or -5 years) they may have registered but with no luck. Dad (Harvey B) was not listed on 1909 Guion Miller Roll with my aunts and uncles as he was not born yet. My information on Thomas did come from Eastern Cherokee Application. I'm interested in what you come up with for William and Mary Nicholson. According to my father before he died he told me his father was: Henry C m. Pearl Dean Gfather: James m. Mary Rogers & SuGi McDaniels GGfather was Thomas m. Catherine McDaniels & Mary Nicholson (not sure if Thomas J or just Thomas). I'm so confused?????? These were issued for people who were applying for Social Security but weren't issued a birth certificate when born.
