    3. I have done quite a bit of research on my Davis line...goes back to early 1800's and the line is documented cherokee.. Barney and Wesley Davis,[two brothers] ,married two cherokee sisters Nellie [1818-1858]and Nancy Reed [1823-1864]. several of their kids were on the Dawes rolls. some of the others who stayed in Tenn, were on the Miller rolls. 1. [CherokeeGene] blood quantums
    2. Joyce Gaston Reece
    3. In order for someone to be 1/16th blood quantum they would need one of the following: A full blood Cherokee within no more than a gg grandparent or within 4 generations. It drops to full -- 1/2 -- 1/4th-- 1/16th Two 1/2 blood grandparents within 4 generations. This would hold the same blood quantum as above. OR Four one-quarter blood grandparents within 4 generations. I'm sure there are other combinations but the point being that the blood quantum has to occur within recent times. The Baker Roll was taken in 1924 and it has NO Levien's, Gordon's, House's, there are 15 Davis'. Anita, Charley, Cornelius, David, Elizabeth, George Israel, Isaac, Joe, Katie, Lena, Lydia, Margaret, Martha & Mary Joyce Gaston Reece
