    3. There is a McMinn County in Oregon. Many Cherokee relocated in Oregon and Washington. BARBARA BENGE use to have extensive Cherokee work and information on the Internet, on AOL. It was closed down and removed. She now lives and works near Yakima, Washington running a Chemical Dependency Clinic there. She ask me to relocate and join her. I didn't. Her name can be googled. There is a BENGE Rootsweb site, and a BENGE Genforum site. My Elder told me that many Cherokee went to Oregon and Washington. Part of My people did. They first went to "Tillamook Oregon on the Pacific Ocean. Then to Willamette, Oregon which is now; called West Linn in the hills up above Oregon City.. There was a time I could walk down the back road and every house was a relative. They are gone. So are my Great grandmother's Walnut trees that surrounded her property. She ( Emma Marie Alderman-Edmonds ) lived almost one hundred years. Lydia Anne BENGE , mother was Wertuh, daughter of "the Wertuh"... Lydia was my third Great grandmother. I do have a photo of her. She married John "HOUSE" in North Carolina and they moved to Clay County, Kentucky. Their son, My great great grandfather, James HOUSE, went to Montana, So did James A HOUSE, his son. They Owned the Wallace Creek Mine and the Clinton Hotel.
