    3. There has to be a direct line of daughter to mother to grandmother to great grandmother on back for the NA markers to show up in the female line. So, if it was your father's mother that carried the NA blood from a female ancestor in an unbroken female line, it will show. If the blood comes through your father's paternal side, it will not show in your aunt as it is then father to daughter or mother to son and the tests do not yet check for the markers in those relationships.
