Reed but married to a man with Johnson surname, 1896 Citizenship Application, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Muskogee, Oklahoma Area Office, Tribe: Cherokee, Application #1585. Her accompanying question is "do you know where or how I check on this?" If anyone can offer advice for Ms. Meeks of Brownwood, TX, I shall be happy to forward your advice or help on to her. While I have someone's attention, maybe you can tell me how to search for specific data/names in the Reprint 1991 (reprinted copy last year) version of Emmett Starr's HISTORY OF THE CHEROKEE INDIANS.
