Dan, I have sat here for years, hitting delete as the political notes come through, the prayer requests, ect. ect. ect. I really feel on a list this large you will always get people who disagree and complain. I think Alli was showing her human side as was I when I wrote her about my grandson having jaundice and telling her about my foal. I recently lost a 11 day old foal and Alli knows what I'm going through. I thought I WAS ON THE CHAT LIST, not the genealogy. Seems to me there could be a discreet way to put the genealogy list back on track without embarrassing people. The only time to embarass or berate people should be if they purposely disobey your requests. Alli has been here a long time, she has helped many people. Do people so easily forget that? Or do they just have a bone to pick from the past? What is the reason of complaints? I don't know, but all that has to be considered. I wish Alli wasn't thinking of unsubbing but I don't blame her. To sit her for years and watch others misuse it, and then write when you are emotional (which she needed support was definite) and get this type of complaint is almost inhumane. I for one am thinking of unsubbing too. IF I can't mention a tragedy, such as losing my baby horse, without it causing complaints, then I don't want to be on the list. WE ddin't go on and on about the horses. HECK, I have 6 mares in foal, could do that easily, plus I'm rebreeding my stud gelding a yearling, training a foal, breaking a 3 year old. I could go on and on and on. You get the drift folks? As for people leaving, they do and always will. now, to stay on topic Dan. I would still love to find family data, but few on this list have helped me over the past years I've been on it. I have helped many without hesitation. There are a handful of good people here who continue to help and for them I salute them.
