Hey all I'm also interested in Martin's from around Perry County Alabama and/or Hale County Alabama. This is not my line, however, my line of Griffin's ( said to be cherokee and black dutch ) came out of Perry and Hale County. They were indeed "mulatto" on census records the time they lived in that area however, mulatto could mean most anything including African American. In a box recently opened by a distant cousin, (the box belonged to the wife of the grandson of the first labeled mulatto in the Griffin line), among many things, a picture was found labeled Martins. I'm also interested in any DOSS information out of Hale and Perry County Alabama too. Thanks Sharon
