Joyce, I found this history on a MARTIN Cherokee line, I think "Ann SHELTON maybe Andro Mache Bell".....see my note at the bottom http://www.geocities.com/ronscabin/genfamhistMcDch.htm The four children of JANE (JENNIE MARTIN) BELL and JOHN ADAIR (JACK) BELL were 5/16 Cherokee. Three were born back East near New Echota, Bartow County, Georgia: 1. ANDRO MACHE BELL, born in 1832 and married to HARVEY SHELTON. According to Genealogy of Old and New Cherokee Indian Families, they lived in Lamar County Texas in 1861. ANdro's sister married Wm. WIRT and I'm thinking the Wirt SHELTON that is listed in 1880 is most likely named after him. DEB W.
