Notes for UNKNOWN: 1842 Cherokee Claims, Skin Bayou District, claim of Katy Spencer nee Pumpkin; Katy states that she lived with her uncle after her father died, and that he died c1816. [It's quite possible that the unknown uncle that Katy mentions here is actually Doublehead and that she got his death date incorrect.] The Moravian Diaries in describing the death of Doublehead in 1807 also mentioned that an unnamed brother of Doublehead escaped the assassins at that time; so this may be the uncle that Katy stayed with. More About UNKNOWN: Clan: Ani'-Wâ'di = Red Paint (Wurteh) 36.vii. NA-NI, b. Abt. 1750. "Joyce G. Reece" <jgreece@earthlink.net> wrote:What do you know about Willanawah....Great Eagle?
