And about 20 miles south of where my GGGGrandparents were married Pendelton SC. Selah Pentacost and Green Wood. Green Wood is son of Ethelred Wood and Dicey Bagby both from Dinwiddle Va. One of Selah and Green Wood's daughters Elizabeth Jean Wood married Satterwhite Hallmark Jan 15 1842 in Jasper Ga. Would these be your line??? Regards The other Barbara Hi Barbara, I know very little about him as my grandmother never did discuss her Grandfather Samuel and never talked about her Grandmother Rachel. The legend that has came down is that Grandpa Wood would not put his family on the rolls because of the intermarriages with the black slaves. I know from the time my Greatgrandma Amanda was born in Virginia in 1852 the time had passed for them to come on the Trail of Tears. I think that they were told not to talk about their Indian blood. I have a picture of Rachel and she sure looks Native American, my little Grandma did too. I will keep your email in my files and maybe someday my brick wall will come down. Thank you for asking. Barbara In Oklahoma Native America P. S. I am not the only one doing research on the Wood side of our family if you don't mind I will share what you have sent with the other cousins.
