Hi Alli, Would you please do a look-up for me regarding my surnames: Hawk and Hoar? We have had family gossip down through the years that we have Cherokee Indian blood - but nothing on paper for proof. My gggrandmother was the daughter of James Hoar and Jane (Jennie) Bronson, I have a picture of my gggrandmother Sarah Hoar that was drawn and colored, she is portrayed as a full blooded Indian. But I cannot find any information on my Jennie Bronson's family other than her father's name was Benjamin and James Hoar's family - the only information I have is that he was born either in Massachussetts or New Hampshire sometime between the late 1790's to 1801. His cousin was said to have been George Frisbie Hoar - the first senator of Massachussetts. But I know from reading that long long ago the Indians sometimes took on a white person's last name and the Hoar family of Massachussetts - housed and helped many many Native American Indians. I would appreciate any help that you could give to me.
