Osiyo Debbie, The Parker, Butler line is my husband's. Is James Columbus Butler in your line? He was an orphan. What are your other names? Seems that the Butlers settled in the Arkansas area near Eureka Springs and therefore are not on the Dawes. The Parker line is also related to the (shhhh, don't tell anyone LOL) the infamous Pretty Boy Floyd family. Debbie Woolf <woolfpac@prodigy.net> wrote: Jay, thanks for the kind words. It is good to see such caring and 'giving' to our people. BUTLER and PARKER? Have we discussed these? My line md. into a PARKER/BUTLER family. The CN is doing much to facilitate hurricane relief. They are bringing 2000 people to the CN from Mississippi. Donations during one blanket dance at the Pow Wow raised well over $1000. Others followed. Probably should have said there are Butlers and Parkers on the Dawes Rolls...but it doesn't appear they are his (yet). His particular families always were reported on the census' as white but their photos makes for compelling speculation otherwise. They seemed to have removed from SC, GA (through the PEACOCK line) before the forced removal in the late 1830's. Where they settled was termed later to be the terminus of the trail of Tears. jay earl <ten8csi@yahoo.com> wrote:Osiyo Debbie, The Parker, Butler line is my husband's. Debbie On Hembree-L we have two ladies who are researching the Butler/Hembree connection. I can't tell you much about the line but they can. If you are interested in posting to that list it is Hembree-L-request@rootsweb.com Joyce Gaston Reece, Director Etowah Senior Center "doing our part to help you grow in your golden years"
Wa-do, Joyce! My cousin, descended from James Mulkey, married a Hembree which is not related to my Hembree line, descended from James brother, Lewis Mulkey, which I find interesting in itself. My grandparents were Georgia Farmer and Jesse Hembree. Both of the above Mulkeys (in addition to two other siblings) were all children of Maria Ross and Jonathan Mulkey. Maria was the youngest sister of Chief John Ross. She died on the Trail of Tears. My Jesse Hembree was an orphan raised by the Tom Beck family. Beck Township was named for the Beck family. Thus lies my brick wall. Etowah Senior Center <escc435@vol.com> wrote: Debbie On Hembree-L we have two ladies who are researching the Butler/Hembree connection.
