An online friend who strongly suspects her 7 X grandmother was a fullblood Native American, has located a straight line female descendant whose mtDNA would prove or disprove the theory. She wants to know if there is a group she can be tested in to obtain the group rate. If anybody knows of such, please let me know. The groups are usually by surname, can you give us the surname? Jana; FTDNA also has Ethnic and Regional Groups such as Shetland Islands, Reivers (Scottish Border Lands), etc. This is partially to compare the DNA of males before surnames were used. I checked and found you can go to the main page and click on Native American Tests and then on the page that comes up, click on: mtDNA UNIVERSAL FEMALE TEST and get it for the group price even if you just order one. So I think this is great!
