    3. Yes I've seen the price of gold. Cost me more to move there to try & get some then it would to buy it. Or about the same, depending all what I need. Too many earthquakes for my taste, too much smog for me, a lot of rude people (though that's where I'm at too so its not a mark against them) A lot of them moved here & jacked up the prices of housing & rent, built a lot of overly fancy homes & IF they lived in them it might have been for a year before complaining & leaving & the prices are still WAY more than our little Ag area can afford, so they sit empty. There are some nice areas if the smog wasn't there. Been all over (driving truck) & spent some time in San Diego. Got to see the Exxon ValDiez (sp) when it was docked for repairs after the oil spill & got to see Mirmar (Top Gun).....both were cool. Got family & ex-in-law family & friends there......would visit, wouldn't live there. We have mines here too, so I could just stay put :0) -----Original Message----- From: cherokeegene-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:cherokeegene-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Dan M via Sent: Saturday, November 8, 2014 10:46 AM To: cherokeegene@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [CherokeeGene] Lore, Pride and Documentation And what is wrong with CA? I lived there once. It was a lot better than here and I am just one county away. Have you seen the price of gold? Dan

    3. Alli mentioned about the earth quakes, in Alli's region is Idaho, the cauldron that is supposed to cause the Yellowstone super quake, is under Idaho. Any how, here is a web page. http://volcanoes.usgs.gov/volcanoes/yellowstone/yellowstone_sub_page_49.html In the past, the people of those times, had some rough jolts with volcanoes. Here where I am on the high desert many many miles from crater lake, we have places the ash is still up to 4 feet thick. BOOM! Just think of that impact on the Natives and on foot, no place to hide on the open flat lands. The burning ash comes falling , the sun goes out and they cant see where to go, they cant breath - and it must have been horrid. I used to live right in Yellowstone. My stepdad was their electrical engineer. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2013/12/131218-yellowstone-supervolcano-eruption-magma-reservoir/ You can document one of the reasons people moved, was volcanoes ;} Dan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alli :)" <iamcheroke@gmail.com> To: "'Dan M'" <mygen2@d-matney.com>; <cherokeegene@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 08, 2014 10:07 AM Subject: RE: [CherokeeGene] Lore, Pride and Documentation > Yes I've seen the price of gold. 3. Thankfully we haven't had a lot of earthquakes here..... But where I'm at, we have a lot of rumblings to the west of me. We're not far from a bombing range, but they claim not to be using live rounds.......but I can tell ya something happens (but doesn't totally register on the rector (sp) scale thing. So if they're not doing it & its not anyone dynamiting & its not registerable rector scales movement....what is it. Yep I'm not impressed with being in the same state as the "cauldron" I can tell ya. We have volcano's here too....not happy. Course most are on the other side of the canyon from us :0) but sadly.......we're in between some canyon's.......not good. I can't imagine what our ancestor's went through back then.....how did they handle the earthquakes, tornado's, volcano's.... -----Original Message----- From: cherokeegene-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:cherokeegene-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Dan M via Sent: Saturday, November 8, 2014 7:57 PM To: cherokeegene@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [CherokeeGene] Lore, Pride and Documentation Alli mentioned about the earth quakes, in Alli's region is Idaho, the cauldron that is supposed to cause the Yellowstone super quake, is under Idaho.
