    3. I did the Y DNA thing through FamilyTree DNA several years ago. It took a long time before there were any matches and for a whle I thought that perhaps we had done something wrong........Finally, one by one, we had matches. At first I was disappoited, because I still haven't been able to get any further back than I already was, but, since there are now 6 or 7 matches, I figure that eventually we'll find the illusive anc4estors. Like anythig else, it is just a tool. I does however, allow you to rule out families with the same surname in the same area but different lines. I am really happy that I did it.
