    3. Yes, and I know of a few who just read mainly now and we loose their resources because some one else decided to do battle with them - even off list, this caused a loss on list. Several people have told me of problems with other members over the years. I can't say who, it is a trust - I don't save those messages so they can get into the wrong eyes. But I can say - we would have a far better list if people would only read, visit and save the ( words that do not need to be used) for silence. Every one is entitled to their own opinions in research. Even if it is to be proved a myth - that can be done with polite facts. No need for any other reactions. Then people won't just read - or start new lists to get away from hostile posts. 3. I do fully agree with this. All you people on face book - if you only knew about the other reasons face book was created - you might do some real research and learn ( why face book is FREE)) Lots of * traps * out there. Do some research, you might get a shock. As for my other group - ( if) was lost rootsweb was the suggestion) If that happened - we would not have those hits posted by Joyce. I do suggest - to get ahead - advance your genealogy research now to full scale and get it as done as possible fast. 3. Maybe to solve the personal opinions people can read this web page ( then the 50 comments) on the bottom. http://blogs.ancestry.com/ancestry/2014/06/04/ancestry-com-focuses-on-core-offerings/ not to mention, the data we used to get free is now being ( sold) on Ancestry on top of the subscription. When you want a vitals or a census - they changed how that works too. Just check this link and see the problem is deeper to the people than a simple change. They never considered the people who use those resources. the Core? dropping the mt and Y dna? There are other places out there, just waiting to be popular - as Ancestry falls into the abyss/ Comments on this topic are genealogy related and are open the next week. 3. I have an account at archives. If that is the same one that comes up doing search at find a grave - which is part of Ancestry, at least for now. It seems they only keep things the adds are making money on or they can get subscriptions. When we first started Ancestry - we got the census and other documents with the subscription, now they are trying to sell those too. Just making Ancestry less important to folks any more. 3. Interesting. 3. Agreed ! Ever since Ancestry became a pay site and began buying up and closing all the other genealogy sites. I thought playing Monopoly was illegal. On Thu, Jun 5, 2014 at 3:52 PM, Joyce Gaston Reece <bjreece@bellsouth.net> wrote: > Joy > > Did they say what they were going to do with all the messages on the boards > at Genealogy.com? 3. I am trying to help a friend locate his ancestors who are Everett and Settie Stokes who were Cherokee and apparently living in some place in OK during the period of the Dawes Rolls. He thought cousins had their CNO cards based on their descent from Everett and Settie, but I do not see these names in Vol II of Cherokee Roots. Is there somewhere else I should be looking? Fawn
