    2. jay earl
    3. For an interesting peek into Cherokee life from a by-gone era: http://www.rootsweb.com/~okgenweb/pioneer/ohs/doubleheadbird.html Bird Doublehead (the father mentioned in this Indian Pioneer Interview) was a full-blood Cherokee. Their family raised Leaty Mulkey, their neice, on the 1910 McIntosh County, Beck, Oklahoma census, next door to some of my Farmer relatives, William and May. Other relatives nearby were Mulkeys and Keys. My GG-Grandparents, Ferdinand and Isabella (nee Mulkey) Farmer and their children are on this census. If you recall your Cherokee history, his G-Grandfather, also named Bird Doublehead, was executed by fellow Cherokees after selling his Cherokee lands to white settlers, against Cherokee law (ironically Doublehead had enacted that law some years earlier). 1. Re: Canadian District
    2. Canadian District was in Eastern Oklahoma in what was then the Cherokee Nation. One of the towns of that district was Webbers Falls--that might give you an idea as to where it was. It was the southernmost district of the Cherokee Nation. Canadian County is in Western Oklahom and was in Oklahoma Territory (NOT Indian Territory or not even the Cherokee Nation. Towns in Canadian County= El Reno, and I think--Mustang & Yukon (closer to Oklahoma City & Oklahoma County than El Reno)

    3. Jerri, thank you so much for all your helpful locations for those of us with ancestors who lived or passed through the states you identify with in your e-mails. My Stone ancestors as well as the Wiginton/Wigginton's were known to live in the Spartenburg Co. SC area around 1800 until possibly 1820 before moving on into Alabama. Again, thanks. 3. Wow this is some kind of coincidence. My GGGG-Grandmother was Mary Polly Miller, born abt 1818. Married a James Fuller and had 8 children. They were in Harris Co, GA until a large group of them migrated to Webster Parish LA. in 1841, including my GGG-Grandmother Martha Cathron Fuller- Almand. Mary's father is assumed to be the infamous Walking Jim Miller as he was in that area at that time. I have no info on James Fuller in GA. 3. Glee, Oh Thank Goodness! I thought I was losing my mind! I couldn't find Moses Daniel. He was from Ellijay GA. He was the conductor of the 7th detachment of the Trail of Tears and was the Speaker of the National Council. I know he was there in 1835, but if you ever get a chance, could you check your book for him? Thanks, Patty The person who did this index left out names. I have more than one Beck in that census and there are no Becks listed in this index. I have the book so have proof that this list is wrong.
