Joyce, okay, I see the option is IE so I'm trying the repair. Would I want to do the restore? or does that put the old back in? also.....I have used the registry to reset my computer BACK to one of the times I rebooted. I have lost my instructions on how to do it, it was through DOS or Safe Mode (I think), but I think I gave it to my daughter when she needed to restore her registry. One way in ME to see if they are still there somewhere is to go to your Start, Search, then search for all .dbx files. The command would be *.dbx A way to safe them onto some other thing like floppys or cd's is to go to your system drive...usually "C", then go to Windows, System32, Application Data, Identities, then the second set of combined number/letters. There (if not it would be the other set) you will find your system files of all your boxes...the inbox, sent items....etc. You can then copy and paste them into another folder then write a cd Joyce Gaston Reece ----- Original Message ----- From: WOOLFPAC@prodigy.net To: CherokeeGene-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, December 17, 2005 1:49 AM Subject: Re: [CherokeeGeneCommunity] Dan or computer savy person please help thanks Joyce and Dan, Joyce do you mean click on Outlook express? or should I click on the Internet Explorer? it's outlook that is the problem. Sorry to see you have such a negative feeling towards seeing good help being thanked, about the Christmas holiday being acknowledged or help being sought out on such a helpful list. But I do recall Dan's (the listowner) request that if you have a Complaint that you send it to him (Cherokeegene-admin@rootsweb.com in case you don't have it). I am glad to see help sought out & is acknowledged by other's & that people are taking the time to say Merry Christmas or Feliz Navidad (sp) to everyone. This has been a wonderful, caring & helpful list since I first joined 8 yrs ago. I gained a lot of knowledge & help w/my tree (even though I'm stuck on the 3rd & 4th generations). Either post your family tree so you can get help or hit delete. Send complaints to the Admin & not the list. Now I'll dig out my papers to post my family tree :) Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates the holiday in some way Alli <going back to lurking for a bit> > Just wondering if it is entirely necessary to send messages like these > "Thank > Yous" "Happy Holidays" and "Help needed" to the entire list? Just wondering if it is entirely necessary to send messages like these "Thank Yous" "Happy Holidays" and "Help needed" to the entire list? After a while they feel a lot like spam. Just my opinion. Thanks!
Anyone know how to direct me on this? Debbie --- Original Message --- From: "Joyce G. Debbie, Look on your Tool bar at the top of your screen. Go to "View". The first listing in the drop down box is "Current View". Open that and see if the view has been changed to "Hide Read or Ignored Messages". Make sure that "Show all messages" is selected. See if this helps. I had the same thing happen about 5 or 6 months ago, that was my problem. Freaked me out............. Good luck.
