    3. I mentioned couple months ago there was a sale going on. http://www.webpronews.com/ancestry-com-sold-to-private-equity-firm-for-1-6-billion-2012-10 I started my website a long time before Ancestry was even a topic. One of the people who started it was interviewed on this group few years ago. I used to make comments on the group ( you never know who is here ) well, Ancestry was molded after rootsweb, wish I had known how to make my website of that value in 10 years. wow. No, I don’t think it will affect the ancestry, but it might affect information harvesting. >??< -----Original Message----- From: Earleene Sent: Friday, December 21, 2012 8:55 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [CherokeeGene] Are Any of the Paid Sites Having = OPENDOORtoSITE'S for the holidays like Ancestry.com did before? to whom?how will it affect the records they have? <>><><><><><><><><><><<>

    3. Yes my Dad drew SS. The SS Admin verified his birth date by using TN 1930 census (which is off by one year as well as his SS Death Redord), his military records reflect the correct year. I wrote TN Vital Statistics and they checked for Delayed Birth Records. I also sent request to Polk County TN for any birth information (+5 or -5 years) they may have registered but with no luck. Dad (Harvey B) was not listed on 1909 Guion Miller Roll with my aunts and uncles as he was not born yet. My information on Thomas did come from Eastern Cherokee Application. I'm interested in what you come up with for William and Mary Nicholson. According to my father before he died he told me his father was: Henry C m. Pearl Dean Gfather: James m. Mary Rogers & SuGi McDaniels GGfather was Thomas m. Catherine McDaniels & Mary Nicholson (not sure if Thomas J or just Thomas). I'm so confused?????? 3. Why not just post the info. you have instead of steering people in yet another direction? Besides that......what do you think the CNO is.....a form of government.....where do you think they get the idea to make others prove from the government..... Its just a government within a government asking for hand-outs from the bigger government....... You suggested we "see Moytoy".......its been asked repeatedly where the information is located. 3. I think I'd just pop in and see. Most of them don't advertise the free times any more - or if they do it's very low key. BTW 24 million new records just went up at Family Search. It gets better all the time and there are often images to view free of charge. Well worth the time to learn to navigate the new site. Susan

    3. Sheila I believe some of the information you have is incorrect. I believe it was William Raper who was m. to Mary Nicholson...not Thomas BUT they did have a son named Thomas...he m. Elizabeth Pitts. The info you have came from an Eastern Cherokee Application. There's only two Thomas' who show on the CCNC and regional census records. The first is Thomas who m. Caty McDaniel the second is Thomas who m. Elizabeth Pitts. There were three Raper brothers in CCNC and area: 1. Thomas who stayed with Caty from at least 1817 until he died in Fannin County, GA. Caty is enumerated there for another census or two afterwards. 2. I'm working toward proving that William was with Mary Nicholson before he m. Jemima Adams. He's the second brother. He lived next door to Elijah Raper in Fannin Co. Elijah was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Pitts Raper who died during the Civil War. 3. Jesse Raper is the third brother...married 'that other' McDaniel sister. I may be wrong but I believe Henry Clay was Thomas' desc.
