    2. Joyce Gaston Reece
    3. In order for someone to be 1/16th blood quantum they would need one of the following: A full blood Cherokee within no more than a gg grandparent or within 4 generations. It drops to full -- 1/2 -- 1/4th-- 1/16th Two 1/2 blood grandparents within 4 generations. This would hold the same blood quantum as above. OR Four one-quarter blood grandparents within 4 generations. I'm sure there are other combinations but the point being that the blood quantum has to occur within recent times. The Baker Roll was taken in 1924 and it has NO Levien's, Gordon's, House's, there are 15 Davis'. 3. Good questions on the people are fine if its a look up. If its conversation about the culture and what people did. We have a group for that and DNA as well. We also have a sister list for cherokee history. Music. Prayer. Chat. Etc. Trying to keep a very specialized list on track is the idea. Notice the tag line in every message explaines the use of the list. If you have need of lookups or want to post finds and explain about them. Thats fine. 3. David, You're not confused. It is purely conjecture, speculation and any other like word that the Cherokee tribe is one of the lost tribes of Israel. It's not proven and likely won't be in our lifetime. Maybe someday but we just don't yet know. It's purely a matter of choice as to what one 'wishes' to believe set apart from actual facts. Those of us who believe that genealogy is not mythology and require documentation to the best that can be had will tell you the same thing. If we look into the deep history of what caused the Cherokee to be called 'Cherokee' one can see that the tribe is a compilation of hundreds of other tribes that the British stuck the name onto. 3. Ok. That’s enough. Lets take the stories to the Culture list and you can argue there all you wish. We need to stick to fact and nothing but the facts here. This is a genealogy list as so many time mentioned. Not a culture and myth list, that’s [email protected] it can use your conversations. There are people there in the know that will deal with the stories as well. I am going to moderate the whole group until folks get the idea we are for genealogy here. Beginning tomorrow, lest we decide to follow list rules as we each read this message. Anyone wanting to carry on with Barb can do that in private or the other group. 1. [CherokeeGene] Annie Walker Burns-Joyce Gaston Reece
    2. Wanda Pezzaglia
    3. Joyce: sometime ago you were "talking" about Annie Walker Burns.  I have just been accepted into the DAR via Nancy Ward. I find that Annie Walker Burns has 150 books/articles in the DAR library.  They are located in the DAR library.  Not sure how to obtain any of the books, but will ask questions at the next meeting.   wanda

    3. My Elder offered me contact with the CRANE family. He works for the Cherokee Nation on the Rolls The various tribes of the Israelites and Judea, the divided Kingdom, are very large. There are many untold historys, untold in American History books. My GORDON family name goes back to Ancient Israel. And I am welcome in Israel, by a calling.... to return. I have been trusted and honored with many secrets. So I try to be careful. The House of David's Tribe was taken to Egypt under bondage as slaves. See Bible... King David had a Phoenician shipping line that traversed the world. The Phoenicians brought the original(Cherokee)( Algonquin) here to this continent , 13,000 years ago. We have the original timbers of the Temple buried in Minnasota. We also have ownership of the Arc of the Covenent with Moses's gold tablets, of the original Ten commandments. It is said we are from Atlantis and the Plieatides,( Spelled wrong). IN 1607 when the English arrived the Cherokee had three ships in the Harbor. We are a Bloodline. 3. I didn't say use them together.......... I said I have used them (separately) & haven't had issues. I just use the 3 you mentioned (Spy Bot Search & destroy & ESS) ...ok technically if i could read.....its only 2......but again.......that's all i use. but to scan I have used Trend Micro before learning about ESS :) But the other programs have let trojans through but claim your computer is clean.....I know.....I had to clean my mom's computer a few years ago & used Trend Micro, when McAfee & Norton & a computer tech, claimed she was clean but she wasn't. :) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dj M" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, December 26, 2012 5:56 PM Subject: Re: [CherokeeGene] OT vir-programs > Do not use Ms Ess with AVg. > No no no! > > spy bot search and destroy and ESS all you need. 3. Your wrong Barb according to this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherokee_Freedman#Cherokee_Freedmen It states "The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians requires a minimum one-sixteenth Cherokee blood quantum (genealogical descent, equivalent to one great-great-grandparent) and an ancestor on the Baker Roll.:" This has been my understanding as well when i first looked to them for information on their requirements. this other link http://nc-cherokee.com/ Is the other one i came up with, but they didn't have their registration requirements on there anywhere I could find. You don't state (in this message below) whether or not your grandmother is Cherokee or European. You also don't state whether or not your mother was Cherokee or European (white) which would reduce your "blood quantum" The Cherokee blood is recognized through the Mother's direct line (Mom, grandma, great grandma, etc) Course from what I've read on a couple links (including those I shared) it stated that the Eastern Band of Cherokee changed things to where the paternal line was to be followed....following the white government ways :) And unless your x-husband Davis was of Cherokee descendent it doesn't matter if he lived in Texas or Ark. (I have family that lived in Ark & MO. in areas the Cherokee lived) How did the government kill your second husband? And him being Finn......isn't Cherokee......so again.....your children's blood quantum would be reduced unless either man (which ever may be the father of them) was Cherokee And if you have proof of Cherokee Connection, back to the 1700's then how come your daughter is just now registering ? ----- Original Message ----- From: "BARBARA GORDON-LANTTO" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Cc: "earthfeather99" <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, December 26, 2012 5:43 PM Subject: Re: [CherokeeGene] Leavens in Kentucky, born 1828 > Actually it is 1/8th. > > First of all we are GORDON, Benge, Goodwin, HOUSE and Lee. and etc.We come > from a long continual connection through several lines from the 1600's, > 1700's, 1800's, 1900's including The DAVIS line from Nikki, Poco's sister > ( Matoaca) > > It is going to be a book, The Lost Cherokee.....Survivors ran and ran, or > hid in caves. > Millions were murdered.
