Good Morning, I am trying to figure out how to research my daughters Indian heritage. Her paternal grandfather recieved documents to fill out and send in regarding being partly indian or something. It is believed he never filled them out and so far no one has found the documents. Going by this family story and whom they say was the Cherokee in the family I'm trying to find out how to go about finding this person listed somewhere or if there was a listing of those that recieved those letters whether or not they turned them in. Josephine Cordelia "Mary" Brown Born November 10, 1872, Pottsiville, MS or MO Married August 4, 1891 in Fort Worth, TX to John Franklin Hall Married March 14, 1921 to J. K. Smith Died October 30, 1942 in Ranger, TX Josephine was the daughter of Francis Marion Brown and Priscilla Jane Floyd. This couple was married in Potts Camp MS. There is only one more line that seems to possibly fit into the Indian Heritage but the photo's I have of my daughter's great grandmother show many Indian features and when my mother in law went to the hospital once the technician whom did her blood work up or something asked what tribe she was from because he was also Indian. Thanks for any help you can be in pointing me in the correct direction to look for proof of their heritage so she can be even more proud of her past. Thanks, Natalie Cole
