All, I have a question regarding Cherokees born in KY. Were-and are-there Cherokee settlements/communities in KY? My GGGGrandfather, Joseph Allen, was supposed to have been born there. His wife was Ann LNU, born in VA, one son, also Joseph, and a daughter, Genevieve, who married Charles Lynch in San Antonio, TX. Family lore has them all being Cherokees, and I do have one picture of Genevieve, who looks like a full-blood. I cannot find them on any census records, except for Genevieve Allen Lynch, when she was 78 years old in San Antonio, TX. Michelle Adams
