Hi. I have been researching the Cherokee connection to my family for several years. Right now I am at a dead end and have been taking time off. The Cherokee ancestor's maiden name was Adaliede Green. I was told that she married twice. Her first husband was a Walters but don't know his first name. I have contacted one of his descendants but se hasn't been very cooperative. Adaliede remarried and her husband's name(my gggrandfather) was William Wright. From what I found so far, they married on 18th of Jan, 1870. It is also possible that they could have married in 1877-1891. Those are the dates I have so far. She had a son named Thomas at the time of marriage. He was around 3 yrs old. Adaliede was born in Green Co. GA. Not sure exactly if it is located in the northern part. One of her sons(my ggrandfather) was names Dili Wright. I found out that his name is Tsalagi. That is the only connection I have to the Cherokees. He was a medicine man or herbalist. He was born in Oconee. On the death certificate, it read Oconoca but I have never heard of it. I have seen some names on the Guion Miller roll that match but I'm not sure if it is them. Adaliede also married into a black family if this makes a difference. If this sounds familiar ro anyone, please email me. Wado Tonya
