In his household were Ahnee, Okehueyoo, Wesley and Mary." I don't know what happen to Wesley DOWNING. Mary DOWNING married a Mr. JONES, I also do not have information on her family. Okehueyoo is the Indian name of my ancestor, Millie Jane called "Jennie" DOWNING (b 1848) was her english name. Her mother was Elizabeth Ann REED. (b 1827), her Indian name was Ahnee. Elizabeth's siblings were: David REED-1851 roll-lists his wife as Linsey, Johnson REED married (Cherokee-Malinda "Linnie" Catcher -daughter of Tickaneesky STILL and Susie ESTEY), Nellie REED married Wesley DAVIS, Nancy REED married Barney DAVIS. DOWNING, Walter- Cherokee, also called Wat DOWNING, enrolled for the west from Shoal Creek in 1828. He was still on Shoal Creek in 1835, his family consisting of three males over 18, two males under 18, one female over 16, one female under 16, all mixedbloods. DOWNING, Walter, Cherokee was a member of the National Council in 1839. *DOWNING, Walter, Cherokee, living in Going Snake District. in 1852. In his household were Ahnee, Okehueyoo, Wesley and Mary. DOWNING, Watt- Cherokee, served in the CSA during the Civil War. downing Watt- Cherokee, (possibly the second person preceding this entry). lived at Hitchita in the Creek Nation in 1867, his family also including Daniel DOWNING. He was again mentioned in 1874, and was a resident of Thlobthlocco in 1882, age 38. He was a candidate for House of Kings from Thlobthlocco in 1887 and a candidate for second Chief in 1895. I don't know who my Walter's parents were,nor his date of birth, but Walter died about 1852 . Elizabeth re -married a to a full blood Cherokee Indian named Jesse THOMPSON. They lived in what is now the Bartlesville, Washington County, Oklahoma area. A creek and a cemetery were named for Jesse in that area. Jennie DOWNING married David MOORE, (Cherokee-son of Mathew and Sarah (WOODWARD) MOORE) and had one daughter by him, Susan MOORE, born 1865 in Tahlequah.(Susan was on the 1880 Cherokee roll) I have been searching for a marriage license for them. So far, I have found no marriage license's for that time period. Jennie then married Richard COLSTON, (Cherokee- son of Harry and Betsey COLSTON )and had two children: Mary COLSTON and Charles COLSTON. Charles is on the Dawes Rolls. Jennie then married John LOVELADY (German) and had one daughter Anna LOVELADY. Anna is on the Dawes rolls. Jennie married a J. GOODHUE , no children by him. After he died she married Jospeh HILDERBRAND. (Cherokee - on the Dawes Roll-son of Benjamin and Delilia (O'FIELD) HILDERBRAND. )They also had no children. Sharon
