    2. Try the Cherokee Nation in OK. They have free on-line lessons that are about 22 classes long for about an hour each time. I take them and love it. Go to Google.com and pur in Cherokee Nation. They have a newsletter that you have to signup for. You just missed the winter classes but if you take the newsletter, they will alert you to the time when the next classes will be open. You might start by learning the Cherokee Syllabary (alphabet). I memorized it (all 85 characters) and learned how to write them. This takes a while and some determination but by the time the class rolls around, the sounds will be familiar to you. The Cherokee Nation has several programs for self help in learning the language. Some of the lessons for the Syllabary are in game form and really do help. R
