I can appreciate how frustrated you feel. Most of us trying to trace our native heritage come upon the same problems you are dealing with. I don't know how far you are in your research,but have you contacted the Eastern Band on the Qualla Reservation in Cherokee North Carolina? Their site explains the records that were kept and where to find them.And I think they have a person there who can help you with your research. I hope this helps. Pam
