    3. I need a bulldozer to knock down this brick wall! First, I only have one day of research under my belt regarding native american research, but I thought I'd solicit the lists since I've received lots of help from Al Simmons and other kind friends on the Bedford County list. My great grandmother was supposedly born in Murfreesboro, Rutherford, TN in early 1878 and adopted by a Johnson family. Her name was Cleo Johnson. She later married A. H. Russ from Shelbyville in 1896 in Lewisburg, Marshall, TN (I have the record). I believe they lived in Shelbyville for a few years before migrating to Paintrock in northern Alabama, ultimately residing in Mobile where she died in 1943. She taught/played music but I don't know if this was in school or in church. Looking for information available at the time for fostering or adopting children, especially native american adoptions during those times in order to identify her adoptive and/or biological parents and keep the quest alive. Any thoughts or suggestions? Mike Kendall San Diego, CA
