I am looking for information on the following individuals: Mourning Napier/Ledford b. Dec 1877 Edmund" Babe" Day b. 29 march 1871 KY Facts: 1) Edmund Day was the son of Beatty Day and Louisa Howard. 2) Beatty Day married Louisa Howard under the name Beatty Ledford 3) Beatty Day was the son of Nancy Day (not proven: father was Aley Ledford) 4) Beatty Ledford/Day m. Louisa Howard 1 Jan 1859 Harlan County, KY 5) Beatty Day uses the surname Day from the time of his marriage til the time of his death 6) Mourning Napier/Ledford married Edmund Day 7) Mourning was supposedly Indian (probably not) 8) Mourning had two names: Mona and Mourning (fact) 9) Mournings name was supposedly Mourning Star (her name was Mourning but no star) 10) Family cemetery is White Star (coincidence.probably) 11) She was a twin (probably not. Two Mournings were born to siblings within a year of one another (first cousins probably accounts for the twin theory) 12) Mourning was born on a reservation (probably not but.) in North or South Carolina (Cherokee nation has never been a "reservation") 13) Mourning and Edmund were married on a reservation (who knows please prove me wrong can't find a marriage record) 14) Mourning was a Ledford (probably not if any chance exists that Edmunds father was) 15) I'm fed up (you better believe it) I know those of you looking at the postings on this list are fed up as well. I was adopted out of this family and until I find something to substantiate my theories or their stories I have to keep looking. This will be my last post so please do not send any disrespectful or just down right rude messages to me. If anyone can tell me if marriage records were kept by the Cherokee, Eastern Band or otherwise I would appreciate that. I would also appreciate knowing where I might find those records if they do exist. Sincerely,
