My husbands family has Wilson's from TN-some of them spelled it with two L's. My husbands great grandfather was William Riley Willson married to Susan Rebecca Taylor ( of Alabama then Arkansas). William is suppose to be of Cherokee descent. Have never found anything on him. Some of his children were Lark Anderson, Silas William, Calvin Thomas, Alfred Lee. Do not know William's parents or siblings, only know that he was born in Sept 1839 either in MO or TN. Any of these names in your Wilson family?
