Hello! I just recently found one of my distant cousins, a granddaughter of my Cherokee grandmother Allie Price. After Allie died in Arkansas, all of her children were "adopted" (more accurately phrased as "taken in") by white people, including some in Evansville. I'll contact my cousin again after the holidays and see if she knows of your grandmother or any of the Canton family, and will let you know. In the meantime, wishing peace and comfort to all who seek, Emily > > [CHEROKEE-SURNAMES] CANTON surname ["Rod or > Leslie" <aeriehollow@ellij] > > > Date: Thu, 18 Dec 2003 13:57:38 -0500 > From: "Rod or Leslie" <aeriehollow@ellijay.com> > To: CHEROKEE-SURNAMES-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [CHEROKEE-SURNAMES] CANTON surname > > Looking for my grandmother's family information > regarding claims of > Cherokee heritage.
