Hello, I'm new to this list. Family tradition says hubby's 2GrGrandmother was "full blood" Cherokee. Her maiden name was Kirts [various spellings include Curts/Kurtz/etc]. Her Mother's maiden name was Jeffries/Jeffrey's/variations. 2GrGrandmother was b. 1814/KY. Her Dad b. 1767/PA. Her Mom b. 1784/place unknown. A sibling of her Mother was b. Camden SC. The family lived in Cherokee Co SC for a time. I've checked Dawes Rolls/Millers List E & W & find nothing to make a connection.
