Looking for a needle in a haystack here. My g-grandfather Rufus Burton Smith was born in Lincoln County Tennessee in 1864, in 1889 he married Lizzie Whorley/Worley in Lincoln County, Tennessee. Apparently he had a child during this time by a cherokee woman also named Lizzie, from PaintRock Alabama, (she was the daughter of a cherokee chief), August 1894, named Charles Henry Hammond Garland Smith, in Blanche Tennessee. Apparently this Lizzie, his biological mother, died either two or three years after he was born and he was raised by Lizzie Whorley/Worley, Rufus's wife.
