    3. Ann, I just saw a Bill Nye Science Guy program (PBS) that said that if you choose any two humans in the world, over 99% of their DNA would match. I have also seen e-mails from people who had DNA testing done, but said they got pretty generic information, i.e., they had Native American genes, but the testing couldn't designate which tribe(s) they came from. If you don't mind spending the money, I suggest you research carefully and don't believe outlandish claims. If you can see a sample report, that would probably help. If you have a specific family to research, DNA testing can be much more helpful. It can tell you whether the O'Connells from Kansas are related to the O'Connells from California and that type of thing. Just my two cents worth. I have been trying to research my family, and keep hitting dead ends. My great-grandfather was full blood Cherokee, but was adopted by a white family. We have not been able to get any further then that. I thought if maybe we did the DNA it would help. I have been told that once we have the DNA results that we can be put into a database, where we could be matched up with other results. Is this true? I also would like to get a reputable DNA lab to do the test as well, so if any one has recommendations on that, it would be wonderful. Thank you in advance for any help that you can give me.
