Hello List, Trying to find information on Lucinda Wolfe (parents, grandparents, siblings, etc.), born about 1805 / 1806 in South Carolina, although some census records have said that she was born in Georgia. Family history has it that Lucinda was full blooded Cherokee Indian but I have seen no positive proof of this to date. Lucinda Wolfe was married to Joel S. Mabry (Maberry), born about 1802 in Georgia. Her granddaughter Pocahontas Mabrey was born, 1/14/1868 in Alabama and died 6/18/1892 in Marshall County, Al. Pocahontas Mabrey was the 1st wife of John (Johnny) C. Horton, born about 1868 in Georgia and died 9/18/1949 in Marshall County, Al. If there is anyone who has any information on Lucinda Wolfe then please contact me anytime at: redmajestic@aol.com. My family and I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Kim

My grandmother always told me that she was one quarter American Indian, which meant that one of her grandparents had to be a full-blood. My g-g-grandfather was Gaines Chism Smith. My g-g-grandmother was Matilda Jane Davis.I have found Gaines Chism Smith on the Dawes list as Intermarried White age 56. The card # is IW274. Here is my problem. Matilda Jane Davis Smith died before the lists were made. She died around 1867 and I cannot find her on any list. I do not know where she is buried. If anyone has any more information on this, please let me know. I am a descendant of her first child, Mary Ann Smith. I was named Mary Ann after her. Thanks, Mary Ann

I'm sorry I jumped the gun and put in the Passmore name early. My computer has been down for 2 days and I've just started my e-mails. At any rate, the Passmores went from North Carolina to Tennessee in the 1850-60's. This is about the best information I have. No idea if they were Native American or not.
