    3. Lake Washington has the benefit of the locks that connect it to Puget Sound, so, NO, it isn't rising. However to the east of us (and not that far away), Lake Sammamish is. A lot of houses and condos are being sandbagged to keep the rising waters out of the lower floors of some of the houses. And as I said to Dan earlier, a lot of the 'high ground' is sliding downward, taking trees and even homes with it. I was inside a building at a class when that happened. Must not have lasted too long, because when the class was over it was coming down in buckets, even had a bit of sow in it. Well, I guess this close to the record (the most recent one, not the one 40 day record) we should go ahead and shoot for it. (Like who is going to stop it anyway??????) Amazing the Queen Christine hasn't found a way to sue God. Yet????? Gotta go start dinner. Don't want to have to go back out 'there' tonight. A good fire and a nice pot of stew sounds really good right now. That just might be "the play of the day!" > My son and his wife took a ride out along the local lake this week and they walked out at least a 1/4 mile that was once lake bottom. There are a couple of single story houses on the former dairy farm land that is now the lake and they could see one of the roof lines! > Bettye on very dried up Lake Benbrook > > > ==== CHEROKEE Mailing List ==== > <<>OPEN forum to all Cherokee topics - except Genealogy<>> > <>Culture-History-Language-Folk lore and Truths<> > Good Manners & Language is required to be on the list > ALL the links you will need to sub and unsub or contact listowner below > http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/other/Ethnic-Native/CHEROKEE.html > > ============================== > Census images 1901, 1891, 1881 and 1871, plus so much more. > Ancestry.com's United Kingdom & Ireland Collection.
