One of the reasons we didn't have horses where we lived ==it was before we knew about iron horseshoes ==what we done was wrap the horses feet with raw hide==if you ever seen a wild horse the hoofs are bad looking==looks bad enough a horse someone told it is posible to trim those hoofs==those hoofs aregrowing to the side some time the horse might not walk again SHADOW BEAR
Hi Shadowbear, Do you know who it was that thought of putting these iron shoes on the horses in the first place? It sounds uncomfortable but yet I guess it helps. Interesting. Never heard of the horses hooves being wrapped before. One thing I've been learning about the wild horses at least on this side of the country is that if there are rocks around some of the horses (not always all) is that they've learned to 'pound' their hooves on the rocks to trim themselves? Shadow Bear was horses common to the Cherokee people?
